The Power of Multiple Presence

How do you grow your business? You create exposure in order to get the word out. If you are a small business or solopreneur, you likely have “Multiple Presence” in the market place.

  • You have a presence in the local Chamber of Commerce
  • A presence in one or more professional trade organizations
  • A presence in one or more hard-contact networking groups (the kind that allow only one member from each profession)
  • A presence in various civic organizations: Lion’s Club, Toastmasters, School Alumni Association…
  • You have ads and articles in various publications and send out mailers.

The point is that you have “Multiple Presence”. People see you, the symbols of your business, and the message of your business in not one, but many different places. This translates into more contacts and more clients.

Create good answer to this next question and you could double your marketing results with far less than double the effort:

How are you creating “Multiple Presence”

on the Internet for your business?

Your business Web site counts as one place you may be found on the Internet. What other place on the Internet has that level of your presence? Only another Web site that exists solely to market your business: The days of the business having just one Web site and thinking all is well on the Internet are over.

What would a second Web site for your business look like? It would not be a repeat of your primary Web site. It would target one highly focused niche market, and perhaps advertise just one key product. Consider it your Internet sales rep. dedicated to just one of your product lines, or services. This “second” presence for your business would have just one goal: To serve one key market niche audience.

Here is a quick exercise to get you started thinking about this valuable marketing strategy that will harness the power of the Internet in incredible ways for your business.

Creating Multiple Internet Presence for Your Business

  1. List your 10 top products (or services).
  2. From that list select the three most outstanding product lines.
  3. Now, ask yourself which one of these three could be featured in its own Web site?

Ideas (Say you’re a Realtor and one of your key services is helping clients acquire investment property): Your site is all about investment and full of Real Estate investment resources.
